What Goes On In PCF?

A typical Sunday morning PCF class starts assembling around 9:45. Someone usually comes early to make coffee and provide bagels, muffins, or some other breakfast snacks. The “official” part of the class begins at 10:00 am, when we hear announcements and prayer requests; then a member will usually pray for the group and begin the discussion.

The discussion depends on the subject of the term. PCF usually reads through a book of the Bible in the fall and does a book study in the spring. Summers are more loosely structured. Recently we studied Isaiah, then did a class called Death, Dying, & Resurrection, then studied a book called Culture Making. Discussion ends promptly at 10:45 to leave time for clean up and for getting to the 11:00 am church service upstairs.

About once a month, we meet outside PCF for lunch at a member’s house. These are informal events meant to provide another way for us to get to know each other a little better, but they’re not required.
